Welcome to Emo9™ ("we", "our", "us"). Emo9™ is an AI-powered communication platform that enables users to interact through facial expressions, voice input, and interactive messaging features.

Emo9™ is operated by Prixporte Software Private Limited.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and services. By using Emo9, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:

  • Account Information: Information such as username, email address, and unique user identifiers (User ID) used to create and manage your account.
  • Camera and Voice Input: Emo9 uses your device camera and microphone to enable features such as emotion-based message unlocking, voice verification, and interactive messaging features.
  • Facial Data: When users use features such as emotion-based message unlocking, Emo9 captures a facial image using the device camera. This image is securely transmitted to our backend servers where it is processed using AI models to detect facial expressions (such as smile, surprise, or other emotional signals) for the sole purpose of enabling app functionality. Emo9 does not use this data for facial recognition, identity verification, or user identification, and does not create or store biometric templates.
  • Media Content: Photos, audio, and video recordings that you create or explicitly trigger while using app features.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including chat activity, session duration, and feature usage.
  • Device Information: Information such as device type, operating system, and performance data.

3. Permissions and User Control

Emo9 requests access to your camera, microphone, and photos only after you provide permission through your device.

You can manage or withdraw these permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may not function properly if permissions are disabled.

Facial image capture occurs only after the user explicitly interacts with features that require it, such as unlocking a message using facial expressions. No facial data is collected without user action and consent.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide core features such as emotion-based message unlocking and voice verification

  • To improve performance, reliability, and user experience
  • To maintain security and prevent misuse of the platform

5. AI Processing

Emo9 uses artificial intelligence to analyze facial expressions and voice input solely to enable app features.

This processing may occur on secure backend servers and is used solely to enable app functionality. It is not used for biometric identification, facial recognition, advertising, or user profiling. We do not create or store biometric templates.

6. Facial Data Handling and Storage

When you use features that require facial interaction, Emo9 captures and processes facial images to enable functionality such as emotion-based message unlocking.

  • Processing: Facial images are securely transmitted to our backend servers and analyzed using AI models to detect expressions.
  • Purpose: This processing is strictly limited to enabling app features and is not used for identification, tracking, profiling, or training machine learning models.
  • Storage: Captured facial images are stored securely on our servers solely for the purpose of enabling app functionality.
  • Retention: Facial images are stored for a maximum period of 7 days and are automatically deleted from our servers after this period.
  • Sharing: Facial data is not sold or shared with third parties.
  • User Visibility: Users are aware when the camera is active, and all facial interactions occur only during visible, user-initiated actions.

7. Recording Transparency

Certain features, such as moment-based interactions, may involve recording audio or video when you choose to interact with those features.

Recording occurs only as part of user-initiated actions within the app and is visible during use. Emo9 does not perform any background, passive, or hidden recording at any time.

8. Emo9 Studio Feature

Emo9 Studio allows users to join events, receive personalized event memories, and interact with event-based experiences inside the app.

  • Event Participation: Users may join events using QR codes, invite links, or other access methods shared by photographers or event organizers.
  • Photo Matching: Emo9 Studio may use face-based matching to help users receive personalized event photos where they appear.
  • Google Drive Imports: Event photos may be processed from publicly accessible Google Drive links shared by photographers or event organizers.
  • Direct Photo Access: Event memories are designed to be accessed directly from shared Google Drive content. Emo9 Studio does not permanently store full event photo libraries on Emo9 servers.
  • Event Memory Wall: Users may share short video wishes or memory messages within participating events.
  • User Controls: Users may choose whether to participate in personalized photo matching and interactive event experiences.

9. Emo9 Lens Feature

Emo9 Lens is a camera and photo-sharing feature that allows users to capture, view, and share photos with connected users based on facial presence and user consent.

  • Activation: To use Emo9 Lens, users must first enable the feature by setting up their face through the app. This is required to allow the system to detect presence in captured media.
  • Connection Requests: Users can send Lens connection requests to contacts who are also using Emo9 Lens. A connection is established only after the recipient explicitly accepts the request.
  • Photo Capture and Sharing: When a user captures a photo using the Emo9 camera, our system analyzes the image to detect faces of connected users. If a connected user is detected in the photo, the image may be automatically shared with that user, depending on their sharing settings.
  • Auto-Share Controls: Connected users have the option to enable or disable automatic photo sharing at any time within the app settings.
  • Importing Existing Photos: Users may import previously captured photos into Emo9 Lens. If a connection is established later, users can request access to relevant past photos. Our system may analyze stored photos to identify whether a connected user appears in them and make those photos available accordingly.
  • Photo Visibility: Users can see which photos are shared, how many users they are shared with, and the identities of those users within the Lens interface.
  • User Controls: Users can:
    • Share photos with connected users
    • Save photos to their device gallery
    • Remove photos from the Lens section
  • Data Retention: Photos captured or processed through Emo9 Lens are stored on our servers for a maximum of 7 days and are automatically deleted after this period. However, any photos saved on a user's device will remain until manually deleted by the user.
  • Privacy and Consent: Photo sharing through Emo9 Lens occurs only between users who have mutually accepted a connection request. All sharing behavior is controlled by user settings and can be modified at any time.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Emo9 complies with Apple App Store privacy requirements and does not collect data beyond what is necessary to provide core functionality.

  • Service providers necessary for app functionality (such as cloud storage, AI processing infrastructure, and analytics services)
  • Legal authorities when required by law or to protect safety and rights

11. Data Retention

  • We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services
  • Facial images and related media are stored securely on servers only for the duration necessary to support app functionality
  • Facial images are retained for a maximum of 7 days and are automatically deleted after this period
  • Users control shared content and may request deletion of their data

12. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system can guarantee complete security.

13. Your Rights

  • You can access your data
  • You can request correction or deletion of your data
  • You can withdraw permissions at any time through your device settings
  • You can request permanent deletion of your account directly within the app through the Profile section
  • When you request account deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this period, if you log back into your account, the deletion request will be automatically canceled and your account will be restored.

    If you do not log in during the 30-day period, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

14. Children's Privacy

Emo9 is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of the Emo9 brand, logo, or identity is prohibited without prior written permission.
